My oldest granddaughter's fifteenth birthday was near. Wow, how did this happen! I wanted to bake something special for her big day. After all, she was getting her driver's permit. She's now as tall as I am, beautiful, and smart. I'm so proud to call her my granddaughter. Last year she requested birthday cake macarons. She does not like traditional birthday cake so, again this year, I asked her what she would like for me to make. Without hesitating she said the birthday cake macarons.

Birthday cake macarons are "to die for", as the saying goes. You mix a little golden butter cake and a whole lot of love into them for the perfect birthday treat. It conjures the idea of meraki, where you leave a piece of your soul, creativity, or love in what you are doing. Macarons for those I love.
The process of dehydrating the cake and incorporating it into the macaron shell was described in the story Birthday Cake Macarons for a Birthday Celebration. The macaron shell preparation was illustrated in the story Macarons for a Wedding. The macaronage was piped into heart shapes and topped with sprinkles. The filling was a ring of raspberry flavored Italian buttercream with a bullseye of raspberry preserves. The perfect birthday macaron!
The birthday girl had a great day! She loved her presents and the birthday cake macarons. I'm honored to be part of her life and to continue watching her grow. Her future is so bright!
